Umbelitus polypore
The Umbrella Polypore (Polyporus umbellatus) is a rare savoury mushroom with a rich flavour. umbelitus polypore are sometimes confused with Hen of the woods with their aggregate caps and ashy brown colour, however they are smaller and more delicate and can often be found much earlier in the season. Widely considered a choice edible mushroom they are generally found around the base of Oak and Beech trees.
