Sweet (North American) Chestnut flakes - Castanea dentata - are smaller and sweeter than European chestnuts and very tasty. Although used most often in traditional stuffings, they are also excellent in soups and stews. Use chestnut flakes to top a chestnut croissant or overnight oats.
