Chokecherry Jelly
Chokecherry Jelly is made from the juice of chokecherries which grow prolifically across most of Canada. It is sharp and flavourful, but not sour like the raw fruit. It can be used on toast or in cooking. It is used most often by chefs as a flavouring for sauces, gravies, and dressings. It can also be used in tarts or to top off a cheesecake. Generations ago, chokecherry jelly was a common condiment on farms.
